It’s been too damn long since my last blog post and while I have good reason, I’ll save the explanation for another time. Instead, I wanted to jump back into things with an all-new Weekly Roundup. My time off from posting left me with some extra time to browse the web and there’s some good things to check out. So, here are my five favorites from the internet this week:
When I say that I am obsessed with watching Instagram stories from Adrianna (aka A Cozy Kitchen) – I am not exaggerating. While not every recipe is vegan (although there are a few great ones in her archives) every single thing she makes looks incredible. Yesterday I watched her make mashed potatoes and quite possible drooled on the phone! You should definitely be following her and check out her blog too.
Amber, from Amber Interiors, has created a new website called All Sorts Of and I am hooked! She has a bunch of topics to check out there, but I cannot get enough of the before, during, and after series. I mean…who doesn’t love to see the before and after of a flip? I do and her interiors are nothing short of stunning. This remodel of a home in the canyon is so beautiful, I am about to pack my bags and move right in.
Since we’re on the topic of food, there was a huge breakthrough in the vegan community this week when it was announced that Dean Foods, America’s largest milk producer, filed for bankruptcy. I am no advocate of people losing their jobs (which is the unfortunate event that coincides with news like this), this moment shows just how much progress is being made. Here’s to hoping dairy farmers take note and convert their practices to making delicious non-dairy options (like this one!).
If you have not spent time on the Career Contessa website, get your shit together. It’s an incredible resource – especially for women – and their interviews are a highlight for me. As someone who has transitioned my own career later in life, I especially enjoyed the interview they did with Ahyiana Angel. Her story is proof that you don’t have to stick to one thing and you can absolutely spend your time exploring all of your passions. A must read!
Megan Rapinoe is a QUEEN and it should be no surprise that she won Glamour magazine’s Woman of the Year, but it was her thank you speech that had people (me included) blown away. After praising all women as she accepted the award, she also took the time to discuss the impact that former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s situation has had on her and the injustice that still exists when people stand up for those who are oppressed. This article is a great read and shines light on why Megan is a total badass.
