As you may know, I love me some YouTube. I am one of those girls who can sit in front of a computer for hours watching an array of videos on style, beauty, and travel. In fact, now that Halloween is around the corner, I have been spending less time watching TV and more time watching horrific makeup tutorials. Who needs the drama of the Kardashians when there is a pop-art zombie tutorial to watch?
These videos are great for both entertaining and for last minute DIY costumes. Sure, these guys and gals are professionals at making themselves look horrifically perfect, but you can learn something from them. You can also be inspired to create some looks of your own!
In honor of the creepy holiday (that I love so much) here are some of the best Halloween tutorials on YouTube!
:: ALEX FACTION ::
I am hands-down obsessed with Alex’s channel. I have followed him on YouTube and on Instagram for years now and I can’t get enough; especially during Halloween. This year, Alex has teamed up with another favorite of mine, Jordan Hanz (see below), and is taking on the 31 Days of Halloween challenge. This means they are giving us a different tutorial every day for the month of October! That’s a lot of Halloween goodness and I am loving every damn day of it. Alex is hilarious and his talent it out of this world. You’d be crazy to not subscribe.
:: GLAM & GORE ::
I was first introduced to Mykie’s channel when she won the Nyx Face Awards earlier this year. Since then, I have been on her channel weekly soaking up as many of her looks as possible. Not only is she amazing at her craft, but she is also very educational and makes creating mermaid scales from gelatin look so attainable. Under all of that makeup is a stunning quirky girl who talent precedes her. I also can’t get enough of the extras at the end of her tutorials which include frequent trips to Krispy Kreme. Who wouldn’t love a girl like that?
:: JORDAN HANZ ::
Teaming up with Alex Faction for the 31 Days of Halloween, Jordan Hanz is bringing your a month full of tutorials. Telling you this girl is talented seems like an understatement because her skills are eminent. Just scrolling through her Instagram, I am blown away by her creative looks. What I love most about Jordan is that she can achieve most of these amazing looks with just a brush and some paint. Can’t get your hands on fake blood? Scared to layer latex all over your pretty face? This girl has you covered.
:: NICOLE GUERRIERO ::
I have mentioned Nicole and her channel on the blog before and for good reason I am bringing her back. While you might be intimidated by the talent of some YouTubers sharing their Halloween makeup skills, Nicole makes you feel like she is just trying it out for fun. She has this casual/best girlfriend vibe about her that makes you want to watch her and hangout with her. She also creates fun colorful looks that anyone can use for a last-minute costume. My favorite look this season comes from her Makeup Forever inspired rainbow body paint fading into the black (photo to the left).
:: ELSA RHAE ::
Elsa Rhae was also in this year’s Nyx Face Awards and with good reason. Like everyone else on this list, her tutorials are full of talent and detail. I remember when I first saw her White Walker look (photo to the left), I about died (as most Game of Thrones fans should). This girls is unconventional and super down to Earth. Her ability to create the 3D effect with paint is something I will forever envy.
