For the past few years I have made a point to create and share my summer to-do list here on the blog (see my previous lists here and here.) Since Summer is right around the corner (insert hands in the air emoji) I decided to get a head start on this year’s to-do’s.
What’s interesting is that I am not much of a list writer. See, I am one of those people who is super hard on themselves and lists intimidate the hell out of me. There is something so satisfying about checking off items on a list of to-do’s so when I look at a list and see a bunch of unchecked items…it drives me mad. So, why in the world do I continue to write these inventories?
The reason I continue to make a to-do list is simply because it pushes me. Writing down a bunch of tasks to take on for the next few months motivates me to try new things and to work towards things that have been in the back of my mind. If you’re like me and the thought of not accomplishing everything on the list terrifies you, remember this: all you have to do is try. It’s okay to not achieve everything, but simply writing down some ideas you have and making an honest effort to achieve them can be so satisfying!
Here is my 2016 Summer to-do list:
|| take a pilates class and if I like it, keep going ||
|| plan out our Italian getaway for 2017 ||
|| join a guided meditation class ||
|| switch up my hair color (hello ombre!) ||
|| read at least two books a month ||
|| invest in a new camera ||
|| start cooking more at home ||
|| host a food drive for the homeless community in Philadelphia ||
|| bring video content to the blog ||
