Last weekend the city of Philadelphia experienced some of the most amazing Spring weather (which is opposite to the flooding rains we have had all of this week). Considering the entire East Coast has spent the past few months freezing our butts off under feet of snow, any small rise in the temperature will send us all into a whirlwind of Spring-fever; myself included. I decided to take full advantage of the sunny skies and spent as much time as a I could outside. So, when my special someone mentioned heading up to the infamous rooftop-taco truck in Plymouth Meeting for lunch, I was all in.
The Blue Route Taco Truck is not your typical food truck. Oh no people. This truck is sitting on the roof – yes the roof – of one kick-ass Whole Foods (inside, you can find a mini-pub that has both beer and wine on tap). The Whole Foods is also attached to Plymouth Meeting Mall and there is absolutely nothing bad about being next to a mall, am I right?
If I haven’t already convinced you to go here, then let me do so by telling you about the awesome food and drinks that come out of this motorized kitchen. I was elated while stuffing my face with the piled high nachos while my better half indulged in the mouthwatering tacos (his favorite: the chicken and fish tacos). And what better way to take down all of this flavorful food than with a tall margarita or choice of beer?
Lastly, I want to give a major shoutout to the rooftop atmosphere which makes for one hell of a sunset view. Need I say more?
Hours and directions to the Blue Route Taco Truck can be found here. Enjoy!
