As you all know, I recently spent a long weekend in sunny (and HOT) Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was my first time in this beach town, but certainty not my last. I was fortunate enough to be invited by my hunny’s family to tag along on their family vacation and I could not have asked for better company. We swam, we drank, and we definitely ate! What more could I ask for?
Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for me – I spent so much time swimming and eating that I ended up not taking half as many pictures as I wanted to. I’m bummed about the lack of photos because the resort was absolutely stunning. We stayed at the Marriot’s Ocean Watch Resort which is across the street from the standard Marriot Beach Resort (this one is an actual hotel versus the villa feel of the Ocean Watch Resort). The perk of being at the Ocean Watch Resort is that you get to use the amenities of both locations – pools included. In fact, if for any reason you get tired of swimming in the 5 pools on site, you can just walk right out the back of the resort and onto the beach.
My main squeeze (who for the sake of this and all future posts we will refer to as A) took me out for the most amazing lunch right on the water at the infamous Greg Norman’s Australian Grille. Both the scenery and the food were incredible. (Side note: if you go I highly recommend the corn bread battered shrimp club… drool worthy).
We also got to sneak in a handful of activities on our last day there so that we didn’t leave there missing out on some of the fun adventures Myrtle Beach has to offer. We ended up at Broadway at the Beach which was filled with fun things to do: everything from shopping to an aquarium and even an upside down house!
Coming home was bitter sweet. I already miss the sun and the sand, but we have a home to decorate so it’s time to get back into the groove.
