Last week was the first time I missed a Motivational Monday and I will admit that I spent almost the entire remainder of the week dwelling on it. While I feel there was some validation in not getting to post something for you all, I still felt awful about missing one of my favorite (and most popular) posts. So, while I cannot promise it will never happen again, I can pick up where I left off and try better this week. Deal? Now, we have a few things to cover, so let’s get into this…
The past two weeks have been a complete blur to me. So much has happened so quickly that I am still swimming in a pretty long to-do list. Even though these recent weeks have been a bit hectic, they have also been pretty awesome. To catch you up: I made a new business connection (more to come), I have finally made some decisions on a new layout for RachelInFlight (I swear it’s coming soon), and I moved!
With everything that has been going on I have been struggling lately with staying organized as well as prioritizing everything that is in front of me. Sure, I am a laid back personality, but I am also a planner and a thinker. This means I like to have agendas and details all laid out so I know where I am going and what I am doing (Okay, so maybe I am really just admitting I have a very mild case of OCD). Therefore, my emotions have been in overdrive lately. [Insert here my ever-so-relaxed significant other who can successfully offset my control craziness.]
In order to take some control back, I decided to step back from everything that is happening and take a big breath. Once I caught my breath, I did what I do best: I planned. I started writing lists of things we needed to buy for the new place (everything), things we need to do around the house (everything), as well as projects/posts I need to work for the blog. I found that taking the time to write everything out helped me. It let me look at all the things I want/need to do and then start to prioritize them. I even found this adorable task organizer from Bowl Full Of Lemons – too perfect!
I have decided to dedicate this week to organizing… all things. Whether it be things in your relationship, your career, your home, or even within yourself; take some time to really assess all that is in front of you. In the words of the famous author Napoleon Hill: “First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plane; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.”Pin It
