Happy Monday loves. While this week’s motivation is a little shorter than usual, it’s full of life.
I am often using Motivational Monday as a way to reflect on various aspects of life and of course, finding the best way to get the most out of the life we are living. One of the biggest struggles that people have (myself included) is looking at the ‘big picture’ of life. It is far too easy to be caught up in the day-to-day and to be distracted by all of the complaints we have. Well it is time to center ourselves for a moment and to look outside of our petty distractions.
The following rundown on life is from Mother Teresa and in the the most simple of ways, she seems to have summed up some true definitions of life.
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
When I first read this list I was like ‘hell yea,’ but then I remembered it was Mother Teresa so I checked myself. It’s funny how uncomplicated these little notes on life are, yet we so easily can overlook them on a daily basis. The struggle, the tragedy, the dreamS, and the challenges; they all approach us throughout our days and sometimes we let them overwhelm us. Sometimes we give up and sometimes we don’t try hard enough, but I like to keep this quote close by as a reminder that we are all here for a reason. So while you may not be religious or believe in any sort of higher power, you can still believe in yourself and your purpose here in life. No matter what life is to you at the very moment, fight for it.
