Happy Monday dolls and sorry for the late post. I also would like to apologize for the short post today, but to make up for it I’m referencing cake and there ain’t nothing bad about that.
I actually overheard someone use this quote last week and I remember thinking how interesting it was to word something like that. Without even being sure what this person was talking about, I mentally grabbed the quote and took it with me. After, I went ahead and did a little research on the topic and can I tell you that every single story or article I found based on this quote was about relationships? While there’s nothing wrong with comparing this idea to a relationship, I was kinda surprised that no one took this concept and brought it into any other aspect of his/her life. Well if that is the case, let me be the first to do so.
The past two weeks have brought on some pretty epic changes in my life. Things are happening to me both professional and personally that are really shaking things up. For the first time I am starting to really reflect at how my life is going and where I want to take it. (More on all of this to come. Patience people). I have always been the one to rally the ‘Don’t Settle’ campaign. My whole life, I have constantly encouraged my friends, my family, and myself to push for the ultimate goal inside them whether that means not settling for a guy that you don’t love or for a job that simply pays your bills. I am without a doubt, the dream chaser who will force you to find your own ambitious nature. The irony? With all these changes that I am going through, I realized that I have been settling in many aspects of my own life for years now – especially professionally. Here I am pushing people to hunt their passions down with the upmost intensity, yet I spent years nibbling on the crumbs of someone else’s dream.
I love cake. In fact, love might be an understatement. So this week’s Motivational Monday is a dedication to all of us (including me) who are reaching for what we really want in life. If the past few weeks have taught me anything it’s that the crumbs we eat in life should really be a taste test to the delicious piece of cake that we are really meant to have.Pin It
