Well, let me start by saying – I literally forgot that it was Monday! Can you believe that? I am sitting here enjoying my Labor Day by doing lunch with some friends, relaxing at home, shopping online, and then it hits me: it’s Monday! Hence my extremely late post of this week’s Motivational Monday. I apologize, but now that we know what day of the week it is, let’s get into it.
Labor Day is a pretty important holiday in that sense that it marks the end of summer (my favorite) and welcomes in the fall. Why is this important to me? Well, I have decided that this fall is going to be the season of change for me. Change is not always a comfortable thing to do, especially in my case. Changing my thoughts, my focus, and other larger aspects of my life means moving out of my comfort zone. Lord knows, that is never easy, but it is essential.
What I want is to change most of all is the future, but is that even possible? The answer is no. The one and only Bill Cosby once said “the past is a ghost, the future is a dream, and all we ever have is now.” So, what is a girl to do? I want to make shifts in my life that pertain to my career, my relationships, my personal life. Having no control over the future and what is waiting for me in life is no fun for this control freak. But, if Mr. Cosby has taught me anything it’s that change can help you lead into a future that you want to be apart of. The difference is that the change has to happen in the present. Changing my thoughts now will help my mind in the future. Changing my actions towards others will help my relationships in the future. Most importantly, changing my focus in this very present moment, that will help me build the future that I crave.Pin It
