Good Morning and Happy Monday! Welcome back from a long holiday weekend. Hopefully all of you enjoyed your weekend and had a little (or a lot) of fun.
In the world of quotes, Oscar Wilde is one of my favorites. There is always a wise charm behind the words of Mr. Wilde including this very quote. I decided to use this one for Motivational Monday based on a conversation that I had with a close friend of mine this weekend. We had this deep conversation about life and what really matters in our lives. Are we living our lives the way we really want to? Is there something about ourselves that we would change? What do we want most from our lives? For me? I have been craving a big adventure – something grand and worldly. Loving travel, I have built an internal list of places throughout the world that I want to visit, yet I have only been able to cross of a small number of them. I have a thirst for culture and want to explore the world one city at a time. What am I waiting for?
It is so incredibly easy to fall into the routine of life. Not that routine is a bad thing, but along with the day-to-day that comes with work, family, and friends, should come the excitement of doing things outside of the norm. So the new challenge is to find something in your life that you have always wanted to do (now is the time to go grab your bucket list, I know you have one) and get it done. Always wanted to sky dive? Pull out the calendar and mark a date. Been pushing off writing that novel you have been dreaming about? Sit down at the computer and start typing. Maybe, like me, you have wanted to visit the remote corners of the world. Well, let’s pick a place and start planning.
My friend said something to me this weekend that made me stop and think. He said “life isn’t short, but life is not forever” (he is a wise one)! Life can be long….hey, some people last over a hundred years. But, it’s true: life does not last forever. So rather than existing in the day-to-day, go out there and live your life to the fullest.
