  • My love for @thebreakfastclubnld is so real that I’m claiming it the best breakfast in Amsterdam! 🍶🍽🍓
I’m sharing photos and details on the blog today - check out the link in my bio.
  • New post is up on the blog (and on @wholesomeandhungry). Wanna eat summer in a bowl? Recipe is in the link in my bio 🍑
  • The only thing not included in this Saturday morning snap is the the adorable pup curled up next to me (he's camera shy)
  • Scrolling through old pics this morning and I honestly don't know what I did in life that made me lucky enough to have this little baby-angel-turkey in my life. Even on the shittiest day, this adorable ass face makes everything right in the world.
  • I made this last weekend to feature on the @wholesomeandhungry page and I'm still dreaming about it.
  • Remember when I got to eat this beauty at @thebreakfastclubamsterdam in the middle of Amsterdam? No? Well I do and it was damn good.
  • The weeks we spent in Bali were some of the best weeks of my life. The people of Indonesia, the food, the culture...everything about this country is incredible. If you don’t already know, the city of Lombok (right near Bali) has experienced multiple earthquakes which has caused many areas to literally crumble. Hundreds have died and even more are still missing. There are some incredible people in the city helping the locals and assisting with aid. Both @mattyower and @rjbrowntown are two of these people. Be sure to check out their stories to see what is happening. I have changed the link in my bio to their donation page. Anything that you can donate will help them greatly. (Note: photo is from Bali last year)
  • Friday Fact: I. Love. Smoothies. I love them so much that I have been literally living off of them this summer. It's been a while since I have posted on @wholesomeandhungry but I think I am going to get back to adding content on that page AND I am going to start sharing some of the recipes over on the blog. Today I posted my recipe for this blackberry smoothie bowl that I literally cannot stop making. So grab your blender and get to it! Oh, and follow the @wholesomeandhungry page. K thanks... byyeeeeeee

When I first learned of podcasts I was sure that they were “not for me.” I have always been a music lover so naturally when I am sitting down to work or blog, I pop on my favorite playlist and make magic happen. Then, with any free time I have in my life, I usually spend it with a book or my favorite YouTubers. So, the fact that I am now an avid podcast listener is a shock to me as much as it is to those who know me.

It all started at work, when instead of hitting my Soundcloud app, I tapped on the Podcast app and decided to give one a try. I had heard that my girl, Liz Gilbert, had one based on her book Big Magic and thought I would give it a go. Since that day my subscribed list has grown quite extensively and I am always on the hunt for new ones to add. I’m even turning into that friend who is constantly recommending a podcast for you to listen to. In fact, I am going to be that friend to all of you right now.

Being mindful on a consistent basis can be challenging, but there are some quality tips & techniques out there to help you. In fact, a lot of what I have learned in terms of mindfulness has come in the form of something I have read or via a podcast. So, here are three mindful podcasts you should be listening to:

The 10% Happier podcast actually stems from a book written by TV anchor Dan Harris. While hosting a segment on Good Morning America, Dan experienced a significant panic attack which was broadcast on live TV. The result of this was Dan taking time to adapt healthier practices in his life which lead him to mindfulness and mediation. The podcast includes Dan’s insights on the practice of mediation and includes talks with celebrities, scientists, meditation teachers and authors on going beyond your 10%.

While this podcast is dedicated to all things wellness, self-care and self- love for women of color (of which I am not), I have found the discussions within the podcast both insightful and refreshing. I really cannot get enough of hosts Lauren Ash and Deun Ivory, both of whom are holistic wellness advocates. I will admit that their podcast goes deep into the practice of meditation, but I have learned a TON from these ladies and tell pretty much everyone about their podcast. If you are looking for some self-care, self-love, and self-empowerment, this one is for you!

I know, I know. How many times and I going to mention Headspace on this blog? Answer: as many times as I want! It should be no surprise that this one has made my list. I am a true supporter of the Headspace brand as their practices have allowed me to easily commit to a daily practice of meditation. The great thing about this podcast is that it keeps things simple. It’s a casual conversation on important topics and the discussions are always relatable.
