It has been a while since I have posted some of my favorite podcasts, but I think it’s time we catch up. Lately, I have been really into two types of podcasts: Crime & Health. Yes, I know how weird that sounds. Since I have been trying (really hard by the way) to refocus on my health, I figured we could start there. Who knows, maybe some of you will get a boost of healthy motivation from this list of podcasts too!
Healthy living means something different to everyone and I am not here to define what your version of healthy looks like. For me, healthy is eating a plant based diet, getting my ass into the gym to exercise, and keeping my mental health in check. With this being said, here are three healthy-living podcasts I have been obsessing over:
Along with having ‘healthy’ love for plant-based eating, I also have a ‘healthy’ love for Australians. Say what you will, but I love me a good Aussie accent. Needless to say when I stumbled on Simon Hill’s podcast, Plant Proof, it was love at first listen. Along with his accent, Simon packs his podcasts with endless amounts of education surrounding health as it relates to plant-based eating and the benefits that a vegan lifestyle can have on the environment. I have spent a LOT of time listening to Simon and his guests and I can honestly say that this show has taught me so much. I have a much better understanding of the science behind food and how food can impact the body beyond weight loss/gain. Simon also has an amazing Instagram and a website that holds even more educational content. Highly recommend checking him out.
While we are on the topic of Australians… I have been following Sarah’s Day on YouTube for years. Her content ranges from health and fitness to fashion and overall lifestyle. Her and her boyfriend Kurt recently started The Health Code podcast and I am equally addicted to this show as I am to her YouTube channel. Along with life updates (they are about to have a baby) and tips on thing like fitness and productivity, Kurt and Sarah also have some really inspiring guests. From bodybuilders to meditation gurus, there is a little something for everyone. I really enjoy the casual/down to Earth vibe that Sarah and Kurt have and their realistic health talks are easy to digest.
My first introduction to Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus was a few years ago when their popular documentary, Minimalism, was released. Like most people, I was really inspired by their ability to let go of material items in order to live a more ‘free’ life. While I consider myself someone who easily detaches from materialistic things, I never really committed to the minimalist lifestyle. As much as I love throwing things out (or donating them), I also love buying things. To re-engage with the concept of simple-living, I have dived to The Minimalist podcast and it has really helped me to make small steps towards a more clutter-free life.
