While I will always want you to be able to get the best tips and tricks for this thing we call life, here at Rachel In Flight, there are a ton of websites out there to help you along your way. There are countless food blogs to help you master a dessert for this weekend’s cookout and style blogs to help you know what to wear to an interview and of course, beauty blogs to tell you what blush you need on your face this summer. Here are a few of my favorite websites that will help you with all of your lifestyle needs.
Finance can be really boring to some people (trust me, I work in it), but it’s also incredibly vital in this day and age. We no longer live in a world where you can go to college, graduate with a decent GPA, and come out with a handful of $50K jobs to pick from. There are more and more people who are stacking up student loan debt to better themselves career wise only to be met with the most painful job search of all time. Money and how we spend it (especially as women) is crucial and it’s sites like DailyWorth that really help you gain a better understanding of money and how you can make the most of it. You will find tips on investing your money wisely, filing your taxes and how to manage your credit.
As you may have noticed, I am a big fan of beauty. From skincare to the latest highlighter to hit the shelves, I am always in the know. How do I know all of this? Well, along with spending countless hours in my local Sephora each month, I also spend a little time each day browsing the Byrdie site. This site will cover everything from fashion, to makeup, to fitness and health. I also love how they have an even blend of celebrity trends and opinions/testimonials from the editors at Byrdie. I also highly recommend following them on Snapchat as they are always at the top beauty events showcasing upcoming collections.
I understand that the topic of religion is a sensitive one and I promise you, this is not me trying to convert you. However, this website has saved me from some major meltdowns and I think anyone from anywhere can gain something from their bits of wisdom. I stumbled on Tiny Buddha on Twitter and found myself constantly re-tweeting their quotes and articles. Eventually I made my way to their site and now visit the page daily for guidance. As I have gotten older, I have come to understand the power of our minds and how much our thought process impacts the way we live (and how we work). This site is packed with helpful insight on almost every topic of life including health, relationships, career, and of course, mindfulness.
As I mentioned earlier, there is nothing as daunting as trying to find a new job. For some of us, we are still struggling to decide what exactly we want to do with our careers while others are in the right direction, but are still trying to find the right fit when it comes to an employer. Career Contessa is a place that I find myself at constantly. Sometimes it is to research the best way to start my hunt for a new job and somtimes I am there to be inspired by all of the ‘Contessas’ that they interview. I have discovered a ton of companies and bloggers by reading through their page and I am always taking notes on how to keep on top of my own career goals.
