The older I get, the more I fall in love with high quality skincare. I spent most of my teens and early twenties terrified of skin care after enduring a few harsh reactions to some drug store products. My sensitive skin would often spend weeks covered in red hives and texture if the wrong product made its way into my regimen. Since then, I have taken the time (and money) to discover brands and products that are kind to my skin.

As someone with incredibly oily skin, it has taken me some time to understand the benefits of face oil. Like most people, I assumed that it was crazy talk when people would suggest a face oil for those with oily skin. However, I am proof that this concept actually works and even better – it helps! Here are five face oils that your skin will thank you for.

Fresh is one of my favorite brands at the moment. I have such an infatuation with the brand itself and can’t get enough of their products. Their new Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil is no exception. Not only does this oil sink right into the skin, it also leaves me looking incredibly glowy. I personally use a touch of this in the morning and it has actually enhanced the way my makeup looks.

Biossance is a new brand for me so I can’t speak too much to their library of products, but this oil is amazing. When they say it’s weightless, they are not lying. It truly does melt into the skin without leaving any heavy residue behind. Just a few drops will leave your skin feeling hydrated. I use this one at night, but it’s so lightweight, I would use during my morning routine too.

Herbivore is one of those brands that I tell everyone to try. Their products work amazing for those with sensitive skin (aka me) since they are built with a minimal aesthetic. For me, this is a twice-a-week oil that I tend to use after washing off a clarifying mask (like this cult favorite.) It packs my skin with hydration and really replenishes my skin after a deep clean. It also smells ah-ma-zing.

If you have ever watched a beauty video on YouTube or Instagram, chances are you have seen Farsali. They are most known for their Unicorn Essence, but I am giving all of my love to their Volcanic Elixir. This is definitely a heavier oil which makes it perfect for an overnight treatment. You wake up with bright, plump skin that makes you look like you just got a solid 10 hours of blissful rest.

This oil right here is an oldie but damn, is it a goodie. Josie Maran’s oils have been a staple in the beauty community for years. In fact this light version of her 100% pure argan oil is one of the first face oils I ever tried. It is still a favorite of mine and is perfect for everyday use. It’s both lightweight and exceptionally hydrating; a really beautiful formula.
