Welcome everyone.. to the weekend! This is a great time of the week and I am happy to see it arrive. It’s also that much closer to Christmas and I have to say, I feel pretty relaxed and excited for the upcoming holiday (compared to my frantic stressed self from previous years). In fact, I have been so caught up in the holidays that I almost forgot to post a Book of the Month for you all!
Since i have been so busy, I haven’t been able to read too much lately, but I did finally finish “Is everyone hanging out without me?” by the hysterical Mindy Kaling. While I knew Mindy from The Office (one of my favorite shows of all time), I never really knew that Mindy was the voice behind so much comedy writing that is out there. I also never knew that Kaling was the ideal personality match for me; as in we should be BFF’s until the end of time. Here me out…
This book is a collection of short stories about Mindy’s life that read like the realest personal diary ever told. There’s no sugar coating and definitely no shame in telling it like it is. From her fall downs while working to get into the business to the embarrassing moments that come with being a teenage girl, Kaling will have you cracking up and relating to each detail of her life.
This book has definitely turned me into a major Mindy Kaling fan. In fact, since I put the book down I have been re-watching The Office, starting The Mindy Project, and am following her on Instagram! Needless to say, I recommend this book to anyone with a good sense of humor.
