In case you weren’t aware already, I’m over this winter. While us East-Coast-folks have lucked out with the minimal snow fall so far, we have not been as lucky with the temperature. It has been so frigid lately that no matter how many layers I put on, I’m never warm enough. I know that it will be over soon enough and Spring is on it’s way, but until then I am in full winter-repair mode.
Winter doesn’t just bring the cold, it also brings the dry. As someone who could win the award for the oiliest skin on Earth, I’m shocked at how I have been suffering from some seriously dry skin this season (except for my face – still nice and oily there). Because of this I have been turning my attention to hydrating my skin with quality products.
Unlike my face, my body can actually handle a creme with some fragrance in, but I am still careful with what brands I will allow to moisturize this skin of mine. I find myself hunting brands that I use for skin care (like Philosophy and Aveda) since I know how beneficial their formulas are already. I have also fallen head over heels for the Shea Body Butter from The Body Shop and carry the mini version with my in my handbag at all times.
Because I do most of my moisturizing in the morning and don’t reapply much throughout the day, I have also turned to products that are a little heavy in moisture so that they last on my skin longer. This is where I turn to LUSH for their Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner which literally soaks into the skin and leaves your body so incredibly smooth. I have also been crushing on the Wild Madagascar Vanilla scent from Bath & Body Works (it’s amazing!)
