Being someone who is very particular about the products that I use on my lips, it takes a lot to make me a devotee of a product. When searching for a good lip balm, I have run into a lot of brands that dry too quickly, focus too much on plumping the lips, or aren’t effective at all. However, I have found a handful of brands that have become my ride or dies when it comes to moisturizing my lips and Burt’s Bees is one of them.
I started using the Burt’s Bees lip balm in my teens and have only grown fonder of the company since then. I now use their Lemon Butter Cuticle Balm for my nails and live for their Coconut Foot Creme. However, when I discovered their line of lipsticks, I will a little skeptical about their step into the makeup scene. I recently picked up two shades from the line while browsing my local Target: Lily Lake (530) and Suede Splash (502). Each shade seemed like the essential colors that I would use on a regular basis and both have exceeded my expectations.
Not only are the shades perfect for everyday wear, but the formula is remarkable! It’s not easy to find a brand that gives you great color payoff and a smooth formula that doesn’t crack on your lips. Burt’s Bees provides the same hydration as they do in their lip balm in each lipstick and you won’t need to reapply a zillion times throughout the day.
Suede Splash has become my go-to nude lip the past month and I make sure that it is with me at all times. I have even recommended these to my girlfriends who ‘hate’ lipstick (is there such a thing?) since the wear is so lightweight.
