I know that I am a little late on this post, but I have good reason for it. I feel as though 2014 was the year of adventurous beauty for me. Now, I don’t mean that in a ‘I’m into green lipstick kind of way,’ but more like a ‘I have spent a lot of money trying different brands out’ way. I really feel as though 2014 was a year where I spread my wings and tried different products and techniques. In the end, it has paid off and my makeup collection is proof. I am so thrilled with all of the brands I have discovered and the routine I have created for myself. I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store!
As usual, the concept of collecting my favorite lips products was a pretty daunting task for me. I mean I struggle picking my favorite shade to wear for one day – can you imagine settling on a whole 12 months? I decided to find my go-to options in shades that I can rock at any event during any season and came up with this collection. A nice group of balms, masks, nudes, and vampy stains that will have your lips looking their very best.
I have surprised myself with how much time I have spent wearing a full face of makeup this year. There was a period of time where I was all about minimal makeup and while I still do rock the no-makeup makeup look, my love for face products is at an all time high. I have found a serious appreciation for primers, quality foundations, and concealers that work their asses off to cover my eye issues. There are so many options and price points when it comes to the top face products that there really is something for everyone.
Much like lips, eye products are often where I tend to go overboard when purchasing. With all the shades of shadows and types of mascaras out there, how is a girl to settle on just one? I did focus on purchasing wearable shades and brands that live up to their hype. Needless to say there are a lot of warm neutrals and black liners in my life right now. I also became a big fan of gel liners and even developed an eyebrow routine which may have me spending more time in the mirror, but they are looking pretty fabulous if I do say so myself!
Without a doubt this year was the year of skin for me. Having been a long time user of Proactiv (and only Proactiv) I spent this year spreading my wings and trying a variety of products and brands. For someone with sensitive skin, this wasn’t an easy task and I definitely paid the price for a handful of products that I tested. However, I also discovered a slew of incredible products that have done wonders for my skin. Like they always say, skin is the true foundation for your makeup so if you want to look flawless, you better focus on that face girl!
